Overview
A day trip to Panna National Park from Khajuraho is an excellent way to experience the region’s stunning natural beauty and abundant wildlife. Here we provide a possible itinerary for your one-day tour: Start early in the morning, preferably before sunrise, to reach Panna National Park by 7:30 AM. The distance between Khajuraho and Panna National Park is around 47 km and can be covered in approximately 1.5 hours by car. Upon arrival, register at the gate and take a jeep safari into the park with a licensed guide.
The safari usually lasts for 3 hours, during which you can spot a variety of wildlife such as tigers, leopards, deer, antelopes, and birds. The park is known for its rich biodiversity and picturesque landscapes, so don’t forget to bring your camera. After the safari, take a break and have lunch at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Pandav Falls, which is located around 12 km from the park. The falls are surrounded by lush green forests and offer a refreshing view of cascading water. After exploring the falls, head back to Khajuraho. You can stop at a few local shops to buy souvenirs and handicrafts. Reach Khajuraho by evening and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel or exploring the city.
Embark on a safari to the Panna Tiger Reserve from Khajuraho. Witness the diverse wildlife and scenic beauty of one of India’s premier tiger reserves. Enjoy a jungle safari, spot wildlife, and marvel at the picturesque landscapes formed by the Ken River.
Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Khajuraho. Drive to the Panna Tiger Reserve, located just 40 km from Khajuraho. Embark on a morning or afternoon safari in a 4×4 open jeep with a naturalist/guide.
Explore the rich biodiversity of Panna Tiger Reserve, famous for its population of Bengal tigers, leopards, deer, and a variety of birds. Spot other animals such as Indian wolves, sloth bears, and more in their natural habitat.
Marvel at the picturesque landscapes formed by the Ken River, which flows through the reserve. For an immersive experience, opt for a nature walk guided by park naturalists to learn about the flora and fauna.
Enjoy lunch at a forest lodge or picnic in a scenic spot (arrangements can be made upon request). Combine your safari with a visit to Pandav Falls, a serene waterfall near the reserve.
Return to Khajuraho for a drop-off at your hotel by late afternoon or evening.
