On this tour we take you to the famous spice market in the heart of Old Delhi: Khari Baoli – Asia’s largest spice market. The narrow alley of the spice market is home to thousands of shops dealing in local and exotic herbs and spices. Your guide will introduce you to various spices and guide you on their therapeutic values and their culinary use. The spice market of old delhi is one of the most vibrant and colorful markets in Delhi and is a paradise for photographers.
The tour ends with a visit to some fascinating traditional perfume shops. Traditional perfumes- known as Itra can take up to two months to be made and are made with fresh flowers and herbs. The interior design of the stores is still very traditional. These are family businesses and some of these shops date back to the 1800s and are run by generations of the same family.
